UK&I Semiconductor Photochemistry Meeting, Tyndall Institute Cork, Wednesday 6th April
We have got a great line-up of speakers for the forthcoming Spring meeting of the UK&I Semiconductor Photochemistry Network in Cork, RoI, as you can see from the list below. If you, and/or your colleagues are able to come – just let us know for catering purposes. Obviously, the more the better. Any queries, don’t hesitate to contact me or Stephanie. Look forward to seeing you at the meeting.
Speakers include:
(1) Prof Kimberly Gray, Northwestern University, on titania nanotubes
(2) Dr. Adrian Silva, University of Porto, on photocatalytic detoxification of urban waste water
(3) Dr. Sudhagar, Tokyo University, new photocatalytic materials for photocatalysis
(4) Prof Andrew Mills: Queens University Belfast, The Skeptical Photochemist: Grind not shine: splitting water with a stirrer (and no light)!
(5) Dr. Jeremy Hamilton, Research Fellow, Ulster University, “Novel photocatalytic materials for solar driven CO2 reduction”
(6) Preetam Sharma, PhD student, Ulster University, “Correlation of photocatalytic activity with open-circuit photopotential”
(7) Professor Peter Robertson, QUB, “Controlled periodic illumination in semiconductor photocatalysis”
(8) Dr. Nathan Skillen, QUB, ‘The use of Light Emitting Diodes (LED) in Photocatalysis’
(9) Dr. Michael Nolan, Tyndall Insitute, “Activating CO2 on surface modified TiO2 photocatalysts”
(10) Jan Kegel, Tyndall Insitute, Orange-luminescent defects in hydrothermally grown ZnO: Origin and material properties.
(11) Dr. Liam McCafferty, UCL, Photocatalysts and catalysts for O2 and Cl2 evolution
(12) Dr. Natalia Martsinovich, University of Sheffield, Computational design of carbon nitride photocatalysts for water splitting
All members are welcome to attend the meeting free of charge and encouraged to present. So let us know: (1) if you (and/or your colleagues) wish to attend (for catering purposes) and (2) if you (and/or your colleagues) wish to present. Membership per institute costs only £100 pa.
The conference agenda is now updated and copied below
Please note there is a pre-conference dinner being held at the River Lee Hotel, Cork, 5th April, 7pm. The cost is £30 per head and the menu is accessible via the members login below. If you wish to attend please contact us so we can ensure your place is reserved.
Many Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all.
